people tell you shocking stuff sometimes you can't even begin to make sense of.  A friend of mine told me recently that he's recently found out his 10 year old son wasn't his.  one of those times when too much information means exactly just that.  I was at a kiddies birthday party held for his older brother's daughter and, as you do, had inquired about his son and why the boisterous nutcase wasn't in attendance.  didn't anticipate the response, didn't know how to respond. cold as ice

where I'm from we have a saying "only the mother really knows who the father of her child is"

The guy's been split up with the boy's mother for about five years now and I remembered the painful drama when she dragged him to the CSA to get child maintenance and all that.  Almost drove the poor guy mad at the time and now it turns out the bitch of a woman played him all along.  Life has a funny way of handing out injustice.  On one of his weekend's with his son the little lad had taken sick and was rushed to the hospital.  Turned out he had a condition that was hereditary so questions got asked, all leading to dead ends.  He said the doctor looked very puzzled and that's when he knew something was not right.  He requested the mother consent to a paternity test and the floodgates of emotional hell opened. 

I've heard and read about shit like this but never known it to happen to someone I know.  And the lady was such a lovely woman.  Why would she do a thing like this?  I told my friend he was very kind and I would have killed her for doing that to me.  He replied when he found out he was more very upset than angry cos he holds such things as sacred. He's currently in a very fucked up place over his relationship with his son and hasn't seen him for months, asking me what I would do.  We went thoughtful and quiet as we watched the party kids playing among themselves.  a dreadful thought of who their fathers really are creeping into my mind ...
